Molding a Composite Chastity Device (Part III) De-Molding First Prototype

On December 6, 2009 ChastityWear developers poured the first belt material into the mold.

The first thing to note is the fill and bleed holes.  Since this is an injection mold we will fill it using a 60mL hypodermic needle which will be inserted at each of the fill holes drilled to accommodate the tip. The bleed holes allow air to escape the mold.

The picture above is the front half of the cup mold.  If you remember, we poured that in the last segment of this blog. You can see the detail in the cup as each of the air holes produced in the original clay model are reproduced here by the little pegs.

When we poured the mold with the silicon inside the penis tube you remember we had a clay penis stuck into the mold to create a way for us to hold the silicon tube in place.

With the silicon over the penis holder we now have the correct spacing to create the penis tube inside the mold.

Now we need to create negative space for the buckle.  This is the area where the key will be inserted. To do this we start with a metal rod positioned in the buckle to not allow material to fill that area.  It will be knocked out after the mold cures.

To that metal rod we attach a keyed nylon spacer to allow us a way to activate the locks. This nylon spacer will not be removed but will be part of the final product molded into the belt itself.

With the buckles prepared you can see that the mold is just about ready to be injected.  In order to do that we must assemble the back of the mold.

Our clear plastic back is attached and now the belt portion of the device is ready to be injected.

We now assemble the cup mold.  See how it goes together and there are bolts that will hold the front and back together.

We begin to inject the belt mold.  Using material colored black you can see how the hypodermic needle is filling our mold. from the buckle toward the middle of the belt.

Now starting at the middle fill hole we are able to begin to fill the rest of the belt.  Within a few minutes the entire belt will be complete and all air ejected through the bleed holes.

Filling the cup is similar.  We have a fill hole and bleed hole.  You cannot see the bleed hole in this picture but it is just a few inches from the fill hole.

When the mold is full you can see the black material coming up out of the bleed hole.  Now it is a 48 hour wait to see the results.  Considering that it is currently in the mid 50s in Atlanta, we are going to allow these casts to cure longer. We anticipate another entry detailing the demolding this Saturday, December 12, 2009.

    Hey Lemut. The injected material that we are using is pretty stiff but flexible. Currently in the injection process we have not stuffed the mold with any fiberous material (ie. kevlar, carbon fiber, et. al.). If we feel we need to do so for structural integrity we will. On the other hand, if someone wants to get through something they will and to some degree we must realize that medical personnel may from time to time need to gain access to a patient’s areas that are hampered by the belt. Either way you look at it — destroying the belt is a visible and tangible violation of chastity — and costly too!

    I have been following your blog with some interest. Nice job!

    Are you contemplating producing belts through measuring kits?

    I have followed the “history and development” of CBs through Altairboy’s site since he first began it, but have never purchased one. I had become convinced that as belts go (vs. cages, such as the Lori, etc.) the Rheinhold design was the best of the lot, based largely on SuperA’s reviews of that and several other belts. Travel to Europe made this option too extravagant for me, and I have been reluctant to undergo piercing so far. So your project, which appears to take Rheinhold to the next level, has caught my attention.

    I did some years ago just by way of “research” purchase a Tollyboy-style belt from a company called Waterhole which was cut from plastic. I thought I had measured carefully, but when the belt arrived, I could not make it work. (It was a nice product. I have to blame bad measurement.) So I am cognizant of measurement as a critical factor.

    I’m gathering your design contemplates reusing a standard penis prison mold with variously-sized inserts to creat variously-sized penis tubes and casting the connecting belt from custom-made molds for custom sizing. Perhaps a measuring kit (like in the Neosteel system) would be a possibility. If you could eliminate the travel requirement, I think it may improve your order prospects substantially.

    Some of the customizing possibilities suggested by others in the pre-crash comments are intriguing as well.

    Looking forward to viewing the de-molding this Saturday.

    Hey picot, thanks for the comment. Right now I think our biggest challenge is to get the product to market with the promises we intended to start with. While the concept of self-measurement is a great future promise, it may not be realistic. While I hope we are wrong in that assessment, we have yet to find or try on a belt that we have self-measured with any success from other chastity belt makers. Now, this is not to say that we have tried everyone’s belt, but since we are now concentrating on our belt, we are no longer sampling the competitors products.

    We are building a universal cup, but we are certain that this cup will have to come in various sizes based on the differences in body style. In our continuing product maturation we intend to make a somewhat adjustable component of the belt but quite unlike Water Hole’s product, the appearance of numerous holes in the material just defy our aesthetic requirements.

    We are looking forward to the de-molding as well :-)

    THe design and concept looks very nice so far. Always love seeing projects going thru design, prototyping to manufacturing. Are you planning on making standard sizings to help with fitting belts?

    Standard sizings, I am unsure of what you mean. We are going to do custom fittings as we are not yet able to guarantee proper fit without doing the measuring and fitting ourselves. We hope that someday in the not too distant future we can have a measuring kit or an adjustable component of the belt.
